Hey all,

Got this what seems to be a haro of some sort. Had it for a while an now im planning on fixing her up to be ridable again.

http://img686.imageshack.us/g/bmx026.jpg/ - Is a link to all the shots of the bike and parts.

Now the details I have are as follows.

Serial on Frame is: 85102225, also has the double V inprint at the front. What is strange is how it's for the 990 mounts at the back.

The hubs need a rebuild, which atm I am clueless about doing (been out of the BMX scene for some 15 years). But they have JoyTech J 88 stamped on them.

The 1 piece crank has ODYSEEY and JM175MM stamped on it.

The head stem has KALLOY Max ^ H.T. 21' stamped on it.

The pedals have VP-500 R/L (respectivley) on them.

Seat pole has  USA BMX CR-MO stamped on it.

Brake lever has LEE CHI MX.

Now im assuming this aint a complete bike, more a mix n match. Which atm for the time being is fine, I just want to get her rideable again.

Cheers
Fett.

Most of those parts are original to the complete bike.

Yeah your right Dean.
I have looked everywhere and so far it doesn't add up! ??
It has an 85 serial # with 990 mounts and no frame standers. Not to mention all frames after 87 had the wraparound gussett at the headtube. I had 2 87 FST's so I know them. Even the Invert had a wrap around gussett.

Hi guys, an cheers for the welcome Cheesy

Over at bmxmuseum.com where I originally posted this thing 3 years ago.. someone came up with a possible bike..

Quote from: Justinr

I have seen one bike like this before. My friend family ran and still run a huge bike shop in Melbourne Australia. At the time (1987/88) they where the biggest Haro importer in Australia and they where expecting a large shipment of FSTs, Sports and Masters. (this would have been the 1987 models) Haro ended up being 2 month behind in the shipment because the demand for the bikes in the US was so high. So after much complaining by my mates Dad to Haro we got the shipment and in amongst it was a 1986 FST painted in 87 colours (Coral and black) with 990 mounts and brakes but no frame stands.

The conclusion we came to at the time was that they must have put 990 mounts on an 86 FST to make up for the fact it had no frame stands and to fill the order.

Then about two week later the shop had a phone call from Haro US saying they had made an error with the shipment and could they have the odd FST sent back. But at this stage the bike had already been sold.

Would be nice if it's all original pieces, but i am not that lucky.

My next aim with this beast is to work out what exactly I need (bearings, headset, etc) I know the head set + crank bearing are all shot and possibly the hub bearings too (this is whats scaring me the most as I have NFI where to start in getting the hubs working again).

Hey Fett, welcome to the site mate. I would think that it is an 86 FST. But I don't know too much  Grin

Strictly BMX Camberwell.
Goldcross are dealers for SE Bikes & GT so they should have bmx stuff too.
Put an ad in the wanted section for whatyou want.
If you just need BB bearings Ive got some for ya. May also have some U-brakes too.

Is it a 87+ master with the 2 tone paint removed off the front? I think they had the brake posts on them.
