Hi All read the entire Boss thread tonight and it was great but I think there are few things that people that may not read it all would like to see. Tributes to Cecil Johns -

I always feel very mortal when seeing stuff like this, makes me wonder what day we are all booked in to see the Boss!

Carlo Lucia (Boss founder and man behind 1980s Oakland Boss) has come out of BMX retirement in the past few years to make some products.  We are selling it under the L+S Creation brand (which he started in 1990 or so).  Recent Hall of Fame inductee Steve Veltman was on this L+S Creation team.  We have 20, 24, 26 frames forks and bars.  We also have power discs and threadless stems as well.   Retro Stems are on order.   Eventually, we will get to 16 inch pit framesets and to the freestyle bars along with framesets with the new technology.

I was fortunate enough to have been part of the Northern CA BMX experience.  My local track was Orion Park Moffit Field, and in the mid to late 1980s, I would see Cecil Johns, Terry Tennette, Charles Townsend (all guys who rode for BOSS)  among others there.  These guys would sign up and race at the locals and put on a show.  It was like the main event of a pay per view event.  Back then in the 1980s,  Cecil had the time to talk to a novice like me and even later in the 1990s, he would still help out others at the track or at the trails.   He represented Boss to the full extent in his BMX career.   It was a sad day in 2004 with his passing.

Carlo and I do not have a website.  I can be reached at different bmx forums or on ebay as dcbmx1.  on vintagebmx.com, my id is darrenc.   I wish the US Postal Service did not have the dimensional weight issues for packages over 79 inches (length and girth).  This would mean anything bigger than a 20 inch frame would result in really high shipping charges.

Hey Darren what's the go with that cruiser frame is that a prototype?

When you say you are doing new technology does that mean you will be putting brake posts on them to take V brakes etc?

What about those crank arms too  Wink !

I asked for a handful of  24" and 26" frames with the extra bar so they will be a production item.  The 24 inch one in the pic with the black jersey is a prototype as production ones should have a smaller diameter extra bar and it may end up at the lower part of the downtube.  i may have a few 20 inch frames done with the extra bar.    I have asked him to consider the newschool (to have 1 1/8 or integrated headset and threadless forks, euro bb and cantilever posts), yet it seems majority of the people want retro. So it may take time for the transition.     We also like to get to the  pitbike framesets and freestyle bars as well.  As for cranks, it may be a consideration down the road.
