The cotter pin ones I got of an old road bike from the tip, I never had a bike so new it had a US BB lol; $10 bucks was unheard of for me as a kid Coasty.  Most I ever remember having was $5, when I got my Tange forks I did a heap of work for Mum and she bought them after a few months.
I didn't have cash but I had a ute when I was 11 and firearms from when I was 12 so it wasn't all that bad.

Cotter cranks of course Smiley-I upgraded my cotter cranks to some alloy racer cranks with a 3 bolt hole swagged on spider. Bike was a Sportsworld MX121.
Didnt know we were such snobbs-flaunting our one piece cranks around-Posh stuff eh? Grin

whatever came out stock on my hotfoot in about 83/84 was crap coz i weighed in at a massive 35kg max. and that was ringing wet and still managed to bend em. (though problably from crashing rather than shear torque generated by my hulking mass) I bought some top shelf (dear as poison) takagis after that, they were still on it when we parted company and were damn near indestructable.......... Cool but most things were when you hadn't cracked the 40kg barrrier Wink

It's hard enough remembering my opinions without remembering my reasons for them.

Team Hotfoots came with Sugino cranks. If yours was an X gussett Hotfoot then I have no idea.
I bent some 165mm no name cranks doing a gate start. I felt something give and when I stopped and looked at my pedals the cranks had bent about 20mm.

No I didnt try to bend them back. Grin
