Bottom Bracket bearings

Couldnt find the WTF section so this I'll do.
This initially looks like a loose ball bearing outer cup but there is a bearing in there. The opening is huge and there is no thread on the inner piece. Other side just has a loose ball cup. Its on a GT Bestwick. What have I got guys? Whats missing? What cranks would fit?
