Howdy.
Im new to this site but have found it in my search for more info on older Freestyle bikes. I realy would like to relive my old passion and get my hands on an old school Freestyle bike (hopefully complete). Basicaly would like an old Haro but will consider anything thats on offer. Not sure on a price limmit but if the bike is right I may be willing to part with some serious cash. Not looking for a clunker but something that looks the goods.

Whats my chances of finding an old Haro Master or Sport? Also want SKYWAY TUFFs.
Thanks in advance- Jason

Hi Jason. Welcome to the site.
Haros are pretty common on this scene so you shouldn't have any trouble finding one. A good one will go over a grand (a Master). The Sport a little less.
Check ebay out. Thats where most will be for sale. be careful of copy parts getting around too. Lots of fake garbage around.
Troyboy on here has a Peregrine for sale. I don't think it's gone yet.

Thank you soo much for the replies this far. I have seen those two bikes on eBay and I will have to admit Im going to have a hard time spotting the real deal compared to a fake. Im not looking to be impossible but I would like the bike to be mostly original and not some chinese garbage (sorry- does China even have any garbage bikes- I wouldn't know). Im well aware that this little project will cost me and to be honest im prepared to spend for the right kind of bike.

In my opinion it seemed the later Haro's were a little more resilient to the kind of abuse we used to give them. While I never did crack or bend my 84 Haro frame or forks I was always envious of the later model's factory centre pull brake systems that were mounted for the rear.

I'd like to sport tuffs also and I have no idea what is what. Im going to keep reading threads and posts to try and learn more as time goes by and hopefuly get my act sorted sooner or later.

Also I heard rumours that haro re-released some retro bikes, is this true? Where can I find one and were they any good?

Haro did release a few different retro bikes. I have a 2009 Retro Master that I was lucky enough to win!! (I still can't believe it) My son, Toby rides it now. We went for a big ride this morning on it actually.
The 2006 Sport seems to be the best and most sought after of all the retros.
Theres plenty of them in Australia but the best would be in USA mostly. Keep your eyes peeled on Ebay and shoot some questions here if your unsure.
The new Tuffs these days look identical to the mid 80's models but they have sealed bearings and are sweet! I have 3 sets and I love them.
The Chinese parts (Taiwan mostly) are ok for stuff like headsets and small parts.
Checkout Porkchopz as he has gone to a lot of trouble to have parts remade by the OG manufacturers from BITD.
Justin is a great guy too.

Wow. Great to see your son riding an old skool classic (even if it is a re-release). Im wondering if bike shops in Australia might have any old stock of these re-releases? Hmmm.

The 2006 'SPORT', were they chrome or did they come in colours too?

As for the TUFFs, which is the model to look out for? SKYWAY TUFF-2 ?

Yeah Tuff II's metal hubbed or plastic. Metal hubs come in Alloy and Steel.
The 2006 came in Teal. I think thats all.
Occasionally the retros come up for sale. Just have to keep your eyes peeled. I'll keep an eye out too.

Thanks again for the info. So there were two different models re-released? It looks like the original Freestyler and the Sport. Just wondering what year model the Sport was based on from Haro's 1980's range? Is there some place I might find reference pics of the re-re bikes?
Sorry for all the questions. Cheers-Jason.

Thankyou again Coasty. Checked out that site and kinda got blown away by it all- phew!  I had no idea this stuff would be so huge across the globe today.

Im currently on the Central Coast and looking to move back up to the Gold Coast early next year. I cant wait to rock a sweet Haro down the beach prominade at Burleigh.

Theres a huge crowd in Brissy and they have regular rides along the Goldy beach. One thing I miss about living there myself. I moved here (Hervey Bay) 5 years ago when there were only 2 collectors and myself on the Gold Coast.
