Awesome photos, check out how professional that joint was back then, it was way ahead of it's time - look at the signage, officials, track prep, grand stands, flags, etc,etc........ Metro was great, and Windsor was a very distant second but still pretty cool!!

Great photos.
I will have a look this weekend at my Dad's.
I know we have super8 footage of Metro West.

Remember Bill Landels starting every race I can remember.
You could never forget that great Scottish accent.

It was a great place to race,especially in the arvo because
we would lock the bikes up in the F100 and go watch the speedway
at night.

How professionally run was it? Look at the starter and the officials all in the same clobber. They looked great.

They think that random start is something new, but it was invented by Bill.

remember when the SE crew came over from USA...Perry Cramer and Bubba Hayes.. Bubba was toying with everyone....he was fast...there was one race where he was that far out in front, he went to show off with an X up and landed like it and was down for 20mins...poor bastard got a taste of Ozzie dirt...lol
