found my old haro freestyler. I'm thinking about fixing it up,not a total restoration. It does have some rust on it, mostly underneath.Just looking for some advice and tips.I have heard oxalic acid will clean surface rust off,but will it hurt the decals?don't want to hurt mine. My decals aren't in great shape but still want to keep them.

Hi there mate, Thats a sweet Haro! That will clean up with OA great. It won't hurt your decals either. It's mainly the foil type you need to watch. Love the Haro Vector bars too.
Make sure you give us some progress pics along the way.

I would never sell my two bikes that I have here. I've had mine since 80-82 and couldn't do it.
I guess if money is tight you gotta do what you gotta do. They get some pretty good dollars for sure.

Awesome. Did you change the bars and forks? Those bars look pretty rare. Vector?
I would keep it and ride it.
You shold tell us the story from when you first got it to when you re found it.
I had a bike I in 2001 and then 8 years later found it again totally restored and bought it back.( paid 1000% more for it Shocked but still happy).

There is plenty of OA info in the tech section.

They are definitely Vector bars. You can still see the sticker.
Very cool bike. Early Masters are very desirable.

yea those are haro vector bars.I got the bike new back in like 83.I rode rode it for a while. It stayed at my dads house for a long time.My step brother rode it after I had moved out.He changed the pedals, not sure whats on it now,he lost the front brakes, and left it outside so it got pretty rusty. It does still have the original front tuff II,I replaced the rear one about a year after I got it.

If you can make it to Knox you would get hundreds of people seeing it and Im sure one of em will be interested. Generally youll get more parting out but its more hassle.
