well thats exactly it coasty, you dont know if you dont ask. maybe even going there in person to the council chambers would get things happening quicker, but i will still write the letter. apparently it is pretty overgrown and a bit stuffed from the 4 wheel drives but with some hard work and the right connections i dont see any reason why it could not be restored to its former glory and raced on. Cool

I hope it goes well. It was a pretty cool track. Lots of people raced there as a kid. I wished I could of raced there more.

Hickeys Lane how it is now

I heard a rumour that Penrith BMX Club were given the opportunity to go back to Hickeys, but they turned it down and went to St Marys

Can I suggest you get a signed petition from as many riders / members / locals etc as posible. This will help support your cause when you speak to council.
Councils won't realise its just a bloody good idea.

Good luck with it

hey burgo, i have already got two bike shops on board and will be approaching pretty much the biggest earthworks company in sydney(J.K. WILLIAMS)and see if they might like to throw in a bobcat and driver and maybe even an excavator as well. i have the name and number of the guy thats in charge of parks for penrith and am currently putting together a proposal for the P.C.C at the moment and will be petitioning every rider i can for it as well as trying to maybe get a few forums behind it as well and also remind penrith council of the historic value of the track itself.
i will be offering a decent proposal for businesses for throwing the hat in the ring and as i said i gave two bike shops a quick rundown today and both put their hands up.

Awesome, sounds like its been on ya mind for a while. I'd be more than happy to put my name on a petition. Im sure I only ever raced there once & it was in the rain, had a blast all the same.
Lets hope its a goer.
