It is either late 84 or early 85. I would go with early 85 before the state titles as I am still running No.2. If you look at Southlake mems, the last picture is just after the 85 state titles. I have some more I just have to scan them.
Wasn't there a new Cardiff built after this one?

I was 19 in 85, had a SLR & didn't ride my bike(quicksilver), but I still have it. So I couln't tell you when they done up the track. I remember riding a home made BMX over crude jumps & burms there I think in the late 70's,
& only raced (not very well) at a small track at Argington, two suburbs away.

           I remember Chapmans bike shop were heavy into sponsership up there (wen't to school with son Craig)
although he rode Veladrome/Road.
I flew down 3 weeks ago for a wedding & kicked myself because was going to check out the old track (if it hasn't got houses all over it) but had no time..

Cardiff was one of my favourite places to go...

This particular race wasn't my best memory though!  (I'm the one on the ground)

Sorry, I haven't been around for a while...

It looks like 1981, Cardiff Winter Open.

No idea where I finished in that race, but I'm guessing not very well!
