Hey guys, I'm looking for some global ideas here. I posted on radbmx and a couple of US sites.
But now I wanna see what the Oz folks would do with this project.
thanks in advance!  Smiley

I recently completely wiped out my excess bike parts down to just rideable complete bikes. Very refreshing.
So I've been collecting some misfit parts to build another nostalgic late 70s/early 80s rider.

I've discovered that I tend to have a fetish for double gusset frames.  Thought about a DG but it looks to be a bit small. Leaning toward a nickel supergoose with the curvey dropouts.

If you were building with these parts, what frame would you use?

parts in the picture:
Ukai hoops/Schwinn hubs (Sting)
Tange TRX forks
Tiger stamped Tuf neck with some quill issues.
lee-chi brake calipers
low end Tange seat clamp

I've only ridden one DG and it was short. I'm 6'3" and constantly baning the bars with my knees. Nice to have ridden one finally, but no something I'd like to ride regularly. The Supergoose is a good choice as they are tough enough, just ask Coasty.

Now, if you would like some Aussie flavour, with TRX forks it's just screaming out for a Quicksilver frame and they are double gusset as well.  Reece (Quicksilver) might be able to post a photo of his chrome and gold one.

for sure you can't go wrong with a Supergoose. But like I said in another thread, a Kuwhara would be another cool choice. It would be cool to see a Quicksilver done by some one OSeas. I believe there are a few in the US. Theres a few Aussie builds in the UK too.

I think with those gold hoops you should go for an early 80's GT Pro. they look hot with the chrome and gold or even the Pro Santa Ana! with the red.

well my decision got made for me.
i put an opening bid on an ELF frame to mark it...and all be darned if no one else bid. ugggh.
well i do like Elfs but didn't plan on doing one right, yet.

but i'm going to scout a quicksilver sometime this year, very cool aussie history.

thank you guys!
