My current project, another race bike from BITD. Almost back to bare metal before a respray in blue. Going to be a red, white and blue colour scheme, need to source a red seat, some stickers and padset, the rest I seem to have sorted.

Nice work. Should be cool when it's done. I still haven't seen a rebuilt Crisp yet!

Coasty,

You're up Hervey Bay aren't you, when I visit the mother in law in Maryborough, I'll have to throw some of my resto's to show you.

Cheers,

Back to bar metal for frame and forks. Notice the red oxide used by Crisp Bros for undercoat, it has certainly helped keep the f&f free from rust. My mate commented that it was a bastard when he chipped paint off the original white paint job.

Adrian H,

Race history of this bike, My friend Scott Fuller and two other mates Michael Koops and Graham Rutterman, purchased three Crisps at the same time in 1985. This one is Scott's, he raced it from 1985 until 1987 until girlfriends and cars took over his life. It was sitting in the shed of his mum's when he gave it to me two years ago.

The Crisp that was Graham's I ended up with in 1987 and I raced it until the following year until I stopped racing.

The photo you took today show make a good contribution to the story.

Cheers,

Thanks Adrian!

Quick note: The front forks did not come drilled, we had a bit of a fad up north where we ran front brakes on our race bikes and most of the guys who didn't have holes drilled their forks, on reflection a lot of us were riding the half pipe at the club so I suppose it may have been a bit of a cross over to the growing freestyle interest.
