Hey guys..
Got my new / old bike yesterday..
Took it for a spin down the drive way and nearly killed myself! lol
Whilst pedaling the crank free wheeled. Sometimes it "grabs" and works fine other times it gives me nothing.
It is the crank or the sproket on the back wheel?

Thanks

Your free whell is stuffed mate. I had the same problem on a set of tuffs once new free wheel bingo. Or your BB is shot lol. When i rebuild a bike I replace all bearings and the free wheel any way.

Adrian.

I agree, it'd be the freewheel, they do die aftyer a while...not good like they used to be the palls spring gets buggered up and doesnt let them fall into place like they should, a new freewheel should sort it out for u, i would suggest an odyssey or acs claw...orrrr if u can find one a Suntour.

Theres a few on ebay right now. Definately the freewheel. I had one let go not long ago myself. You may need a freewheel remover to get it off or the local bike shop may do it for a fiver.

To get the old one off i find a vise is good i put the freewheel in the jaws on the edge beside the teeth and crush it and then screw it off holding the rim with a little bit of effort, thats how I get the old crapped out ones off in a hurry and without a tool.
