Hi Byron, welcome to the site, I think you raced in the same age group as my twin boys, Jason and Shane Nicholson, their home track was Balgowlah but they raced at just about every track on the east coast. Your name rings a bell. would love to see your pics.

Hi Byron, Welcome to the site.
I'm a Castle Hill Local (was anyway) and rode there a lot. Funnily enough I never raced there. I raced at Blacktown. Castle Hill was 5 mins from home and yet I rode to Blacktown!! LOl No idea.
I was a bit up in age from you. I was 14-16 those years. I really liked the Castle Hill track. I honestly can't think why I never raced there.
I hope you can manage to get ahold of those pics and vid. I want to see the famous start hill again.
Oh and I was at the filming of the Speedwell ad there too.

Welcome to the site Byron. I raced at Penrith and Castle Hill in 81. Hopefully you can get some photos for us all to have a look at.
Cheers

Hi there Byron!

Yes, I raced at Ryde Eastwood for probably longer than most... from 1977 through to 1983.  Was even the club President for a while.

There are some old Ryde Eastwood regulars frequenting the forum and around the Old School BMX scene. Damon Bevan is still around somewhere for example.

I am even communicating with Andy Raymond on facebook... Roll Eyes

hey ajay, i talk to damo everynow and then i met him about six months ago and found him to be a top bloke with quite alot of knowledge. he identified a bike for me which turns out to be probably the only one of it's kind left Shocked built by competition development and no it's not a quicksilver, it was produced for jeff vary when he owned eastwood cycles.
