It's a bummer the site stuffed up..but here's to a better a bigger site!!!

I'm after some advice on cleaning and restoring some skyway yellow tuff 1's.. I think a few weeks ago COASTY gave me advice but naturally it's gone off here.. so COASTY could you please repost the advice when you have a chance??? Is it wise to bleach them at all??

Cheers to all...

I've read that bathing them in WD-40 does the job.

I've also got a pair of tuff 1's that I'm going to try it on. Grin

Bleach will only work on White Tuffs. If they are white and you bleach them, be very sure to grease the cups as the bleach does actually eat ther metal away. Trust me on that one!
I think you said your were black correct? If so just clean them using a water blaster (gerni) or scrub them with a cleaner and a scourer. After they're dry you need to see how they come up. Dyeing is an option but black Tuffs should come back to life with the WD40 method that Dave suggested.
Drown them in wd40 and put them in a garbage bag for a day or 2. I've just done this on a pair of 16" mags for my Raleigh and they're perfect. I'll get some pics up today if I can.

Ok heres a pic of my 16" jobbies from my Raleigh Mini Magnum. I have no idea what brand they are!
You can see the mag on the left was half sprayed with wd40 (I ran out). All I did was wash them and then spray them.
The Z rims are done the same way.
