I think the BEST way to preserve them is keep them out of sunlight. I've been using just a regular supercheap tyre shine maybe once every six months. My garage floor does gather a fair bit of crap. But I suppose we'll see over time, altough I haven't noticed any deteriation on any of my skinwall tires, including some hanging on the rack on the wall.

Don't use Armourall. Trust me, being a detailer I can tell you it's rubbish.
It will dry them out in no time. You can buy a blue gel that is a restorer. Armourall just makes them look shiny.
Also don't hang them up. It's ok for short term storage but over time they will go "egg" shaped. Lay them down on a flat surface.
I use the gel at work but can't remember the name. I'll find out and post it on tuesday.

Did you end up finding the name of that gel? I asked for it at Repco but they didn't know? is it available to the public? thanks mate  Smiley

Id have to agree with Coasty on this one as i own a Landrover Discovery and a RS2000 Escort, both vehicles are barren of chrome but have more black plastic than you can imagine and from my experience Amoural is crap and dries up in no time. I found on the cars that Boot polish works the best but that is a bit impractical for BMX tyres (unless they are all black).
I think i know the product that Coasty is talking about as i use to get it or somthing similar from a mate in the trade years ago and it is really good and long lasting.
The other product i use on the cars for a quick blackening that lasts reasonably long and i have used it on older BMX tyres black and coloured, is the Tyre foam "So Easy" i dont know if it does them any good but it doesnt seem to have harmed them so far and the black stays a deep clean black for a hell of a lot longer than Amourall or 303 or any of those type products.

Cheers
Richie
