Hi guys

I somewhat impulsively bought a '80 motomag frame/fork/headset  Grin

What this means is i need to buy pretty much everything else for it, and being a total newcomer to the restoration side of BMX - i need help!

The obvious bits I can think of are

-headstem/bars/grips
-crank/pedals/chain etc
-rims (i think i want tuffs) - do originals come up often or should i buy new?
-seatpost/seat
-period correct rear brake system

im keen to get bits that are suited to the bike, but probably not 100% crazy about dates etc matching perfectly...

any help appreciated, and ill post pics once i pick up the frame  Grin

Theres usually everything you need on ebay for it. Tuffs aren't hard to find. Phil likes them and buys them all up. lol
Most colors sell pretty regularly. Or you can buy new ones from www.coloredtuffs.com
The Goldstem is the hardest (and most expensive) part to find. Most go for over $200.

Dude that looks great. Should do up nice. Contrary to what young Mr Coasty might say, I hate tuffs!!!!
I can see a nice set of red Arayas on that frame.  Wink

It looks very nice. I like white ones.
It all depends how deep your pockets are. All the parts are easily accessible and most finishes of those parts can be replicated. Geese are the easiest bikes to rebuild.
have a look here too. www.bmxproducts.com

Hey Gt, just put together on paper what you want to put on it. Then it is sourcing time. Join the forums and put down what you need in their WTB sections, look in their for sale sections, and get EBAY going. You may have to bring out stuff from the UK or USA, just get a postage price first as some of them will try to rip you off a bit in that area. Good luck and have fun!!! that is the most important thing.

www.bmxmuseum.com have a good for sale section. Coasty could help you out with good traders as I think he is there a bit.
