Anyone got pics from the Bay track? Rumor is that is maybe starting up again. A guy is coming up the Canberra this weekend to talk to some of us about it.

Was an awesome track, Craig Fisher used to ride it as well in the 80's. I think they held the 92 NSW titles on it, was early 90's anyway.

    Funny you should mention Batemans Bay track, I have this trophy sitting on the shelf above my pc. My boys got it for 1st place in junior sidehack at Batemans Bay first open day in 1982.

Hi All,
I'm the dude that came up to the Vikings meet on Saturday, I sat by the finish line with 2 of my kids (5 andf 2) but unfortunately didn't get to chat to Brett. I am hoping to re-start the club and get the old track going/or new one built. Have been talking to council and have their proposal documents for a new venue, also picked up all the race results and documents from the former president Jack Waples. He gave me some great old picks and a scrap book with everything from day 1.
Going to meet Brett and Brendon tomorrow.
Will post pics over the next few weeks.

Be great to see the old track up & running again. We had a holiday caravan @ Glenhaven Caravan Park, so it was nice & close for us. May have some photos somewhere. Is Jack still around?! If you speak to him again ask him if he remembers my dad, Ernie Greaves?

Still got some old trophies from there as well!

Jack waples is still around, in the same house in Leigh Street. I collected all the old club records and memorabilia from him a couple of weeks ago. Will post pics when I get some time to download a bloody driver for my scanner.

Hi Brett
I noticed your work email having reference to a certain undertakers. My Aunty has worked for the opposition O'Rourke's in Queanbeyan, on and off for years.

First corpse I ever saw was by accident there in the Chapel, when I was finishing off their renovations in about 91-92 I think. I can still remember the masky smell every time the fridge door was opened. Spooky man!

Anyway back to BMX

Looks like it is a new track for the Bay! It is starting to grow on me but I am more than a little sad about saying good bye to the old stomping ground.
