Has anyone seen anything painted with the chromatic paints that change colour depending on the angle you see them from?
Guy has offered to paint my bike in it, but its not cheap and I want to know what it looks like finished?

Cheers Tim

There's a guy down the track (spray painter) done his sons DB with it & rims to match, looks fantastic.
Around 1000 bucks a ltr, they do a lot of Harley's with it.

The pain the guy has is called Harlequin and it looks a bit like this but you dont see the full effect on the video.
When you click it embedding is disabled so go watch on youtube if you want.

Thinking of doing the RL 880 FS in it, any thoughts?

cheers Tim

Hey Tim, It's great paint so it will look good. You won't get as dramatic affect as you would on a car because of the small surfaces. But it will work well. Like Troy said it's worth about a grand a litre. Lots of cars up here had that paint. It's a bit old style on cars now. Cool for bikes though.

theres more than one type of colour too.. they are all  "Kameleon"   and are made by "house of Kolor"

check this link to "House of Kolor Aus"

FYI...

most candy / Kameleon paint jobs will require a silver base coat first, as the they are actually translucent and will require several layers of application to get the desired finish, the layer underneath always shows thru.

Like any good paint job the preperation is where the real magic happens, good prep = good paint finish.

provided the painter knows what they are doin  Wink
