Ok so it wasn't the flashest around but I reckon the old Maxi is worth fixing up, I would have killed for one bitd, as a matter of fact I did kill to try get a decent BMX........but the rabbits we killed one got us 20 cents a pair for skins split between the three of us that were doing it, so I never did get a proper BMX and had to do with the old dragster we welded a gusset in.

I found this hanging in the LBS and the owner sold it to me for 20 dollars.

Powdered and stickers with new cups ready for the cranks once the spider is back from the chrome platers along with the shimano hub, still chasing the steel Arayas for it.

More to come as it progresses, I'm still chasing a few OG parts, thanks to Laingy I have the right coaster hub. I've got the star for the steerer tube, but still have to find out how they got them to stay in, anyone know if it was glued or the plastic pins were enough to keep the star there?

Cheers Tim

Nice score there Tim, she looks fantastic after the respray. Good to see Malvern star getting some respect. I too am currently working on my own Maxi build in black. Any new work done on the build?

Where did you score the stickers? I've been after a high quality reproduction for a while now and would love a set. If you could point me in the right direction it'd be greatly appreciated.

Hiya OZBMXBandit, the frame is powdered, not too bad a job but not perfect, the stickers I made myself from scans of old stickers; however i made the ones on the main tube too big and have to resize and redo. They came up pretty good for the most part, except for the wrong size; I made the MaXi text the same length as the whole main tube sticker should have been so the letters are too big and will be redone at some stage.
If you send me your email I can send you the artwork if you like.
Still waiting on parts from the chrome platers, seeking another steel Araya (or 2) but it will get there.  Seat rails going to platers soon to have the flaky chrome stripped off.
It takes a while, hope it will be a decent looking ride in the end.
My Supermax and Supermax Chromo have also been painted in 2-pac white I just have to wait until the painter goes back to work to get them back.  Will post some more pics as things progress.

Cheers Tim

Thought you might be able to find a use for a list of the OG parts off of my Maxi. These are the parts I've identified as being OG. Hope you find it somewhat usefull.

Also I'm not sure how my headbadge stays on, I assume it is fixed with a few pins.
