Cheers Adrian but that one is earlier than the ones I need, I need the Weinmann levers with clamps the same colour as the lever. Cheers for the comments guys.

My first bike was a Mongoose (1981) model. It was second hand and realy beat up. My Mum bought it and another for my sister from some guy way back when. It was so beaten up it was unridable so it sat in my shed. One day I noticed it was gone and in a panic I told my Mum it had been stolen. Little did I realise she had been planning a suprise for my birthday which was very close by. To my amazement come birthday I was presented with this incredibly cool Mongoose (which was my fav' from BMX BANDITS- BTW). Although it never had the blue TUFF's it had everything else and I was very proud of it.
I never realy ventured to a proper track as there weren't any close enough to me back then but by god I rode that thing till the very end.
Good times as a kid I guess.  Grin

It will take another tack with most memorable old School bikes.

The CW "Z", what an awesome look but did any survive without a reweld?

The Slingshot, only ever saw one in a magazine and always wonder how they would have ridden, did anyone have one and how did it ride?

My dream was always a Hutch Pro Star, still got the magazine clipping, I loved racing my Pro Racer because I found it suited me down to the ground!

Cheers,
Picker

Only ever had 2 bikes, 1st bike was a free spirit, damn ugly bike and heavy as sin Grin  but it was the only thing I could afford, kept the bike a while, slowly added parts to it, saved to have it stripped and dipped.  Once I saved enough money bought a eastwood special from eastwood cycles, awesome bike and was very proud it came from 100 percent of my hard earned cash as a kid.

The bikes I looked up to and down at back in the 80s were mainly 2.  The one I looked up to was a sunshine frame, that thing was just beautiful, I thought it was just a pure racing machine and always wish I could have had one, just a magical frame indeed.

Sorry for this but the bike I always looked down at was jmc, they just looked so weak to me, not much chop and the main people I knew who weren't sponsored by em were just rich kids born with silver spoons in there mouths, would have been embarrassed back then  to ride one, lol, how some things influence kids, its funny looking back on it now
