LOL, didnt mean that in a bad way at all, its just how my interpretations were as a kid back then and the thread was about bikes that influenced us and I still remember today what I thought of them............   Grin  I know they were bloody great bikes dont get me wrong.

Hi All.

I too had the dragster converted with Tange forks, "box" bars etc. damned heavy and not very usable! That was about 1981. Unfortunately for me I built it over xmas 1980 and when I went back to school in 1981 I got hell from all the other kids as they had got 'real' bmx bikes for xmas!

Straight away I got a job delivering the local newspaper after school (on my bike - carriers fitted weekdays to hold the papers - front and rear!!) and saved my pennies. By the end of 81 I had saved enough and bought myself a white SupaRoo with blue Araya 7x's, and all blue anodized parts.  Fair effort for an 11 year old i reckon! I used to race it at Cross Keys, Findon (old track at the skid kids), Happy Valley and Belair (all in South Australia). I would ride to race at Findon and Cross keys, catch the train to belair, and bum a ride with my mates parents to Happy Valley (he had a black and gold ProSight in about 1982 - was $600 back then - it was a huge coin bike in the day - he had it stolen when left unlocked at school and he was 11 when he got it!!). I sold the Roo in 87 when I got my drivers license and car - needed petrol money!! On the lookout for one again 25 years later......
