JMCGT

I used to be, grew up in Townsville, left for ten years when I was 19. Went back for 6 years and moved to Brisbane 18 months ago.

I like your collection.

Cheers,

Picker

quote from MON_ARO ....."+1 Haro Freestyler - '87 Master - '88 Team Sport - my fav."

I have to agree with you there- I am a big fan of 88 GT Pro Freestyles but I have been riding an 88 sport for nearly 2 months now and I have to admit I am diggin it?  Things seem to happen a little slower on it than the GT and it suits my rolling tricks better-

The only freestyle bike i ever had is my 89 Haro Master which did most things well but my favorite bike that i kitted out with pegs ect was a Redline ST20, i felt so much more comfortable on that than i did on the haro but at the time the haro was way cooler for bragging rights. The bike i allways wanted to get and still do is the General Ozborne it looked way cool with its graphics and the team ridders allways seemed to be that much more hip.
I liked the look of the GT's but could never understand why they didnt build a dedicated freestyler like the haro. The GT allways looked like it was a racer with everything bolted on. The one thing the haro did well was take abuse on the platfoms and pegs where as the aftermarket pegs ect i had on the redline which were the same as what GT used had a tendancy to bend.

Hey Richie I'm not 100% but just watched RAD for the 9 millionth time and the Dyno guys had GT on there kits so were the Dyno's a Freestyle GT's maybe?

This is me in 88 on my new 88 Team Haro Master (green on green), best freestyle bike I had. I also had a '87 FST (orange on black) and a '85 FST (white). Wish I kept them all  :'(

That's cool Brett, I loved the Haro Masters with the chrome arse end and black/green (i think)painted front.
Forgot to tell you last weekend that Sharkey was down the coast the weekend before the ACT RRS and he thinks he remembers who you were when I told him about the Erindale Jam and said you were the one that brang the PA system along. I should organise to catch up with him again in Canberra soon hey?

What about the Ron Wilkerson Special? Did I get the name right? The pics I remember of that bike showed extra bars fitted for foot holds and it was all chrome. It looked ace!

While haro's would be an easy pic I would also put up the SKYWAY's and KUWAHARA's too.

What about this one as far as looking at anyways Woody Itsons' gold Hutch Trickstar was a pretty cool bike -

The WAL (Wilkerson Airlines) was a great bike and quite rare too.

Thankyou for bringing back that blast from the past Coasty. Wow I never got to see any realy good pics of the Wilkerson frame before but I vaguely remembered it from magazines I used to buy as a teenager. It looked cool then but even cooler now.
Thanks for sharing. Cheers-Jason

Really didnt get into freestyle but I did like the bikes Haro, GT and others (WAL)put out around 1989 with the built in bash plate. Havent seen any around for years. The best freestyle bike?  :)Unanswerable!
